About B&B Italia

B&B Italia is a leading Italian furniture design company founded in 1966 by Piero Ambrogio Busnelli.

Located in Novedrate in Northern Italy, the head quarters were design in 1972 by the young architects Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers in 1972.

Busnelli invented a process to manufacture cold polyurethane foam mouldings with an integrated steel frame.

This was revolutionary in the 1970's, and the process is still the benchmark of excellence today, with many competitors unable to produce in such a way.

This technique led to freedom of design, great longevity due to their steel frame, and products that could be easily recovered.
